For most people their first experience of camping is roughing it for a night or two in a tent with minimal in the way of creature comforts.
Ask anyone if they have ever slept in a tent and they will probably tell you yes. Most of those people will say they had a great time and probably have a story to tell because tent camping brings with it a sense of adventure. Tent camping has become a less popular choice for a holiday and that is understandable. We are all a bit better off these days and tend to want to relax and enjoy a couple of weeks enjoying the finer things in life. Having said this owning a tent opens up a whole new world of opportunity for short inexpensive breaks.
Camping and the kids.
Camping out for a couple of nights at the weekend can be a great way to spend some real quality time with your family. If you have children there are few things that will give them a greater sense of adventure than a weekend’s tent camping. Of course they have to be old enough that you can cope with them, but if they are young enough to hold that imagination and sense of adventure there are few things to top it. Tent camping puts you in an environment where you interact and work together. This brings about a great sense of bonding and the whole experience can be so much fun for the youngsters. I still have fond memories of my young son drying a pair of socks on a stick he held over the campfire. He had a grin from ear to ear and I will take that picture with me forever.
Camping Holidays.
Camping holidays have become a lot more luxurious and intertwined with modern technology. This is good thing because it caters for those who like that bit of luxury. Technology has also found its way into tent camping and it’s surprising what you can get to make the whole thing a more comfortable experience. There will always be a place for the humble tent because of its practicality. Tents are cheaper than ever to buy and are widely used for a whole range of purposes. They are a handy accessory for people like fishermen & rock climbers to holiday makers and rock festival goers.
Getting Away From It All.
Being able to come home from work on a Friday night and get away for the weekend at the drop of a hat is well worth the small investment needed to get set up. I would recommend it to anyone especially those with children. So if you are looking for a great way to fill a few summer weekends and spend some quality time with your family. Get a tent and go tent camping.
