A womans perspective

Tent Camping Tips For The Ladies.
By Kay.
I remember my husband saying to me, “come on, let’s take the kid’s away, tent camping for a long weekend”. My instant thought was, oh my god, no, not tent camping. it’ll be horrible, it’ll be cold at night, there’s bugs, i hate being dirty, the kid’s will get bored and oh my god, i’d have to cook in a tent!
My husband must have read my mind, during the silent pause because he said, “honestly Kay, you’ll love it and so will the kids, tent camping isn’t at all how you think it’s going to be like, it’s a wonderful experience and a fantastic way to spend time with the kids.
I reluctantly agreed to go along with his long weekend, tent camping and couldn’t believe how excitable the kid’s got when i told them what we were going to do, so now there was no way of getting out of it!
Anyway that’s how it started for me, i never thought i’d get into camping but i did and hate to admit my husband was right, i enjoyed every minuite of living outside in a tent in the open, there’s just something overwhelming and captavating about it, it was absolutely everything he said and so much more but don’t take my word for it, go camping and see for yourself. I even seem to enjoy the cooking, there is something about getting a meal together on a camping stove.
Here’s a list of things that i take with me when i go tent camping, i hope it gives you some ideas: Baby wipes, toothbrush and toothpaste, camping scissors, soap, small free standing bathroom mirror, shampoo and conditioner, towels, deodorant, make-up, hair brush, hair bands, extra knickers (just in case!) , warm socks for day and night, pyjamas, t-shirts (you can wear one under your pyjama top if you get chilly at night ), sweat shirts because worn with a t-shirt underneath can be removed and tied round your waist if you get hot, a warm hooded jacket as our weather is so unpredictable, a brolly for wet day’s and hot day’s when you need some instant shade, track suit bottoms are good for lazy days when your not being too adventurous or when it’s hot, jeans because they are so versatile, you can wear them when roughing it up, if it’s cold with the added bonus that you can wear them if you find yourself in a pub! Last but not least, sanitary wear because it’s better to be safe than sorry!
Most of the things here are compact, so they don’t take up too much space, somenthing us girls do have to take into consideration when we go camping. There are also many compact camping accessories available to make life easier.
Well that’s my list of ladies essentials condensed down to the bare minimum! I hope it helps you but i’m sure you will think of some additional things to squeeze in there!
Happy camping
